Building Surveyor
Manchester | Construction Consultancy | Up to £60,000 + Benefits

Ready to take the next step in your Building Surveying career?

If you're a Building Surveyor looking to broaden your experience, take on more responsibility and work on an exciting mix of projects, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

I'm working with a growing construction consultancy that's continuing to strengthen its Manchester team. They're looking for an ambitious Building Surveyor to join the business and become part of a supportive, forward-thinking team where professional development and career progression are genuinely encouraged.

With a varied workload spanning both professional surveying and project delivery, you'll have the opportunity to build on your existing experience, develop your technical expertise and take increasing ownership of your own instructions.

A role that offers more than just variety

You'll be involved in an interesting portfolio of projects across education, healthcare, residential, commercial and public sector sectors, giving you exposure to a broad range of Building Surveying services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Surveying: Undertaking condition, defect, measured and dilapidations surveys.
  • Project Delivery: Assisting with and managing refurbishment, maintenance, repair and improvement projects from inception through to completion.
  • Contract Administration: Getting involved in contract administration and monitoring works on site.
  • Technical Reporting: Preparing specifications, schedules of work, tender documentation and detailed technical reports.
  • Client Relationships: Building relationships with clients and developing your confidence as a trusted technical adviser.
  • Team Collaboration: Working alongside experienced surveyors, contributing to the wider team and supporting junior colleagues where appropriate.

You'll be given the opportunity to take ownership of your workload, develop your client-facing skills and continue building the experience needed to progress towards a Senior Building Surveyor position.

What are they looking for?

They're keen to speak with an enthusiastic Building Surveyor who has a solid consultancy background and is ready to take the next step in their development.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Around 4+ years' experience within a building consultancy environment.
  • MRICS qualified or actively working towards chartership.
  • Experience across both professional and project-based Building Surveying services.
  • The ability to manage instructions and projects with increasing levels of autonomy.
  • Good technical knowledge and strong report-writing skills.
  • Confident communication and client-facing abilities.
  • A proactive attitude, commercial awareness and a genuine interest in developing your career.

What's on offer?

The consultancy recognises the importance of investing in its people and offers a package designed to support your professional development and wellbeing.

  • Salary up to £60,000, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
  • 28 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Health and wellbeing allowance.
  • Phone allowance.
  • Ongoing CPD and professional development support.
  • Clear opportunities for career progression.
  • A collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Exposure to a varied portfolio of high-quality projects.
  • Comprehensive wider benefits package.

Your next career move?

If you're a Building Surveyor looking for a role where you can expand your experience, develop your technical capabilities and work towards the next stage of your career, this is well worth exploring.

Join an established consultancy with exciting growth plans, a varied project portfolio and a team that wants to see you succeed.
