Functional Skills Tutor - South Manchester

The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition to learners across South Manchester.

This rewarding role involves supporting learners in their Maths and English skills. Tutors will identify the individuals' difficulties and support them in overcoming their barriers. The successful tutor will build the students self confidence by creating engaging lesson plans that opens pathways for them to achieve their educational, employment or personal goals.

Tuition may take place in learners' homes, community settings or other agreed venues, depending on individual needs.

Position Details

• Location: South Manchester
• Position: Functional Skills Tutor
• Hours: 5-15 hours per week (flexible)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications

The successful Functional Skills Tutor will have:

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, CELTA, DELTA, TEFL/TESOL or equivalent)
• Experience delivering tuition
• Experience working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, adaptable and learner-centred approach

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional references relating to work with children or vulnerable adults
