Job Title : Mid/Senior Bid Writer
Location : Manchester - Office based ( 1 day WFH)
Salary : Dependent on experience
Job Ref : 41360
We’re working with an established architecture practice looking for a Mid/Senior Bid Writer to join its Manchester team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced writer who enjoys bringing project teams together and turning their ideas, expertise and experience into clear, compelling submissions.
You’ll take the lead on bids, tenders, presentations and proposals, working with colleagues across the practice to develop well-researched responses that show what makes the team and its work stand out. You’ll be joining the marketing team as its sole bid writer, so you’ll have plenty of ownership and the chance to shape how submissions are developed and presented.
We’re open to hearing from Bid Managers with a strong writing background as well as experienced Bid Writers.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the writing and development of bids, tenders, proposals and presentations
- Working with teams across the practice to gather information, ideas and project examples
- Researching opportunities and tailoring submissions to suit each brief
- Turning technical information into clear, engaging and persuasive copy
- Managing several submissions at once and keeping deadlines on track
- Reviewing and editing content to ensure each submission is accurate, consistent and polished
- Creating and formatting bid documents using Adobe InDesign
- Helping to maintain and develop bid content, project information and supporting materials
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience writing bids, tenders or proposals
- Excellent research, writing and editing skills
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working to tight deadlines
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once
- Experience using Adobe InDesign to create and format documents
- Confidence working with different teams to gather information and shape content
- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work independently
Experience in architecture or the built environment would be useful, but strong bid-writing experience and writing skills are the priority.
The details
The role is based in Manchester and is mainly office-based, with one day working from home. The practice is keen to move quickly, with interview slots available early next week.
