About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate Actions professional to join BNY's Corporate Actions and Securities Services Operations function in Manchester.

We are open to candidates operating at Senior Specialist through to Vice President level, depending on experience.

The role combines hands-on Corporate Actions expertise with operational oversight, client service, process improvement and, for more senior candidates, people management and leadership responsibility.

You will be responsible for ensuring corporate action events are captured, processed and completed accurately and within strict market deadlines, while maintaining strong operational controls and delivering a high level of service to clients.

For more senior candidates, the role will also involve leading and developing teams, managing performance against KPIs/KRIs, driving continuous improvement and working with senior stakeholders to enhance operational effectiveness.

What You'll Be Doing

Depending on experience and seniority, responsibilities will include:

• Managing and processing corporate action events across the full lifecycle.
• Capturing and validating corporate action data from multiple market and data providers.
• Ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions in line with market deadlines.
• Reviewing and reconciling data to identify discrepancies, breaks and exceptions.
• Investigating and resolving operational issues and processing errors.
• Corresponding with clients via email and telephone regarding corporate action events and queries.
• Ensuring client instructions and transactions are processed accurately and within agreed SLAs.
• Using multiple operational and bespoke systems to input, extract and validate data.
• Maintaining accurate workflow records, diary notes and supporting documentation.
• Working to tight market-driven deadlines and managing competing priorities effectively.
• Identifying and correcting errors and weaknesses within processes and procedures.
• Supporting testing, system releases and operational change initiatives.
• Maintaining and improving procedures and operational documentation.
• Producing and reviewing MI, KPIs and KRIs to monitor operational performance.
• Supporting operational risk, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Identifying opportunities for automation, process improvement and operational efficiency.
• Working collaboratively with Operations, Technology, Compliance, Risk and Client teams.

Senior / VP-Level Responsibilities

For candidates operating at the more senior end, the role will additionally involve:

• Leading and managing Corporate Actions operations and associated teams.
• Developing, coaching and mentoring team members and supporting their professional development.
• Managing team performance and holding individuals accountable against agreed KPIs and KRIs.
• Undertaking performance reviews and supporting recruitment and resource planning.
• Acting as a senior escalation point for complex operational and client issues.
• Developing strategies to improve client service and operational performance.
• Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the function.
• Monitoring operational risks and ensuring appropriate controls are maintained.
• Working with senior stakeholders to deliver strategic initiatives and operational enhancements.
• Leading process improvement, automation and digital transformation initiatives.
• Building a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning and high performance.

• Strong understanding of the Corporate Actions lifecycle.
• Experience working with financial markets data and operational transactions.

• Strong numerical and analytical ability.
• Experience with reconciliations, exception management and data validation.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas.
• Experience using multiple operational, workflow or bespoke systems.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing workloads.
• Experience dealing directly with clients and internal stakeholders.
• A strong understanding of operational risk, controls and regulatory requirements.
