Senior AV Commissioning Engineer
Manchester
I'm working with a leading AV integrator looking to recruit an experienced Senior AV Commissioning Engineer to join its technical team.
This is a varied, hands-on role involving the configuration, programming, testing and commissioning of complex AV systems across a range of commercial environments. You'll work across audio, video, control systems, digital signage, networking and LED displays, ensuring installations are fully tested, correctly configured and ready for customer handover.
You'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with project managers, solutions architects, installation engineers and support teams. The role will include both workshop-based preparation and commissioning on customer sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Configuring, testing and commissioning professional AV, audio, video and control systems.
- Programming and configuring Crestron and Q-SYS control platforms.
- Building and updating touch-panel interfaces and testing control functionality.
- Configuring video distribution, signal processing and network infrastructure.
- Commissioning LED displays, including processors, controllers and receiving cards.
- Building, wiring and testing AV equipment racks ahead of installation.
- Carrying out structured fault finding, system validation and performance testing.
- Producing commissioning records and technical documentation for project handover.
What we're looking for:
- Strong experience commissioning professional AV systems.
- Crestron programming and system configuration experience.
- Experience with LED processing and control platforms, ideally Novastar.
- Good knowledge of video distribution, networking and signal management.
- Experience with AV rack building, wiring and testing.
- A methodical approach to technical fault finding and problem solving.
Q-SYS configuration, audio DSP, control UI development and scripting or automation experience would also be beneficial. Experience across every platform isn't essential, provided you have a strong technical foundation and are willing to develop across different technologies.
The role will involve UK-wide customer site visits, with occasional overnight stays and out-of-hours work depending on project requirements. A full UK driving licence is essential.
