Are you a commercially driven sales professional with experience in HVAC, building services or energy technology? Do you have a strong new business mentality and the ability to build strategic relationships and win new business?
We are partnering with an innovative UK cleantech business specialising in smart hot water cylinders and connected systems designed to reduce energy consumption, support decarbonisation and improve building efficiency.
The business is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across new build housing, social housing, commercial property and the wider energy and building services markets.
This is a genuine new business development role, focused on identifying opportunities, building relationships, influencing specifications and converting technically led sales opportunities.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a technology-led UK business developing smart hot water solutions for domestic and commercial applications.
Its intelligent systems help reduce energy consumption, improve efficiency and support carbon reduction objectives. The business operates across retrofit, new build and commercial markets, working with developers, housing providers, consultants, contractors, distributors and energy partners.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the UK Sales & Specification Director, you will take responsibility for developing revenue, strategic partnerships and market presence across the UK.
This is a home and field-based national position, with an initial geographical focus on Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and North Wales, alongside travel to Scotland and other parts of England.
You will identify target accounts, generate new business, develop relationships with senior decision makers and build a strong pipeline for smart hot water cylinders and connected systems.
You will engage with developers, housing associations, M&E consultants, contractors, distributors, utilities and commercial property owners, presenting solutions around energy savings, carbon reduction, SAP/EPC performance, compliance and whole-life value.
A significant part of your time will be dedicated to proactive prospecting and outbound business development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and trade shows.
- Provide market intelligence to support product development, pricing and marketing.
- Take ownership of national territory development and long-term commercial growth.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience in B2B business development, specification sales, channel sales or strategic sales.
- Ideally five or more years' relevant experience or a demonstrable track record at a comparable level.

- A successful track record of generating new business through proactive prospecting.

- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
Desirable experience:
- Working with housing associations, developers, local authorities, M&E consultants or contractors.
- Knowledge of hot water systems, heat pumps, solar PV, smart controls or energy management.
- Understanding of SAP, EPC, net zero, ESG or retrofit decarbonisation.
- Experience developing strategic partnerships, frameworks or distribution channels.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

A genuine interest in low-carbon technology and energy efficiency will be important.
