Production Operative – Irlam, Manchester

People Solutions are currently recruiting for Production Operatives to join our well-established client based in Irlam, Greater Manchester.

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as a Production Operative, Factory Operative, Manufacturing Operative, Machine Operative, Assembly Operative or Production Line Operative.

Shifts

Candidates must be available to work all three shift patterns, rotating on a weekly basis.

• Week One – AM Shift: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:00
• Week Two – PM Shift: Monday to Friday, 14:00 – 22:00
• Week Three – Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 22:00 – 06:00
• Weekly rotation across all three shifts is essential

Rates of Pay

• AM Shift: £13.68 per hour
• PM Shift: £14.34 per hour
• Night Shift: £15.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Production Operative, your duties will include:

• Manufacturing fire prevention products in line with company specifications and quality standards
• Carrying out production tasks, including palletising finished products and bagging materials
• Assembling small components, including fitting rubber washers to sprinklers
• Conducting visual quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
• Following all health and safety procedures and site regulations
• Reporting hazards, defects or safety concerns to management promptly
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines
• Complying with company policies and site rules
• Undertaking other reasonable duties as required by management

Essential Skills

To be successful as a Production Operative, you will need:

• Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment
• Ability to work all three rotating shift patterns
• Ability to carry out manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving materials safely
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions accurately
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
• Adaptable and proactive approach to work
• Reliable attitude and strong work ethic
• Availability to start work as soon as possible

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience as a Factory Operative, Machine Operative or Assembly Operative
• Experience working within a fast-paced production environment

Training Provided

• Full company policy and procedure training
• Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
