Dispute Resolution Solicitor / Litigator – 4–7+ Years PQE
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-Time (Part-Time Considered)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Location: Manchester
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dispute Resolution Solicitor / Litigator to join a well-established and growing legal practice.
Our client is looking for a confident, commercially minded and motivated legal professional with ideally 4–7+ years' PQE to join an established Dispute Resolution team.
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of contentious matters, acting on behalf of both businesses and private individuals. This position offers excellent exposure to a broad range of litigation work, alongside the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the department.
Candidates with slightly less experience who can demonstrate strong technical ability and relevant litigation experience will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing your own diverse caseload of dispute resolution matters, including:
- Commercial and contractual disputes – advising and representing clients in a range of business-related disagreements.
- Professional negligence claims – handling disputes involving professional services and potential breaches of duty.
- Property litigation – dealing with residential and commercial property disputes, including possession proceedings, dilapidations and boundary disputes.
- Contentious probate – advising on contested Wills, inheritance disputes and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
- Debt recovery and insolvency – managing recovery proceedings and associated disputes.
- Employment disputes – handling Employment Tribunal claims, settlement agreements and general employment advice.
- Personal injury-related litigation – dealing with Employer's Liability and Public Liability claims.
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients.
- Provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice.
- Manage cases independently from initial instruction through to resolution, including court proceedings where necessary.
- Support colleagues with advice on contentious legal matters.
- Contribute to business development activities and the continued growth of the litigation department.
- Participate in client consultations and initial advice sessions.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent client service.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:
- Qualified Solicitor status or substantial relevant litigation experience.
- 4–7+ years' PQE, although strong candidates with slightly less experience are encouraged to apply.
- Proven experience managing a varied civil and/or commercial litigation caseload.
- Strong knowledge of dispute resolution procedures and litigation processes.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- The confidence to manage client relationships and work independently.
- A proactive, organised and commercially aware approach.
- An interest in business development and contributing to the growth of a successful team.
Please note: This opportunity is best suited to candidates with broad dispute resolution experience rather than those whose background is exclusively focused on high-volume, process-driven Personal Injury or Road Traffic Accident claims.
Salary & Benefits
Our client offers an attractive benefits package and a supportive working environment, including:
- Competitive salary dependent on experience.
- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Additional holiday entitlement through a loyalty scheme.
- Option to purchase additional annual leave.
- Contributory pension scheme.
- Annual discretionary bonus.
- Healthcare cash plan.
- Death in service benefit.
- Full-time hours, with part-time arrangements considered.
- Excellent opportunities for long-term career progression.
Why Apply?
