Robert Half

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced revenue accounting leader to take ownership of a global Revenue function within a large, complex international organisation.

This is a senior leadership role combining technical accounting expertise, global process ownership and transformation. You will lead an established centralised Revenue team, ensuring robust revenue recognition, effective financial controls and consistent processes across multiple geographies, while supporting continued business growth and integration activity.

Reporting to the Head of Global Order to Cash, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Operations, FP&A, Legal and IT, playing a key role in the ongoing development of a global finance operations function.

The role

  • Lead and develop the global Revenue function, balancing effective day-to-day delivery with continuous improvement.
  • Own global revenue recognition policies, processes and controls, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, including IFRS 15 and ASC 606.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex customer contracts, commercial arrangements, pricing structures and new service offerings.
  • Take responsibility for month-end and quarter-end revenue close, working closely with FP&A on forecasting and reporting.
  • Drive global process standardisation, automation and the effective use of finance technology.
  • Lead the continued transition of revenue accounting activities into a centralised global finance operation, with a transformation programme extending into 2027.
  • Oversee financial controls, SOX readiness, audit requirements, SLAs and performance reporting.
  • Partner with Group Finance, IT and other stakeholders on acquisition due diligence, purchase accounting and post-acquisition integration.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing commercial insight and practical solutions to complex accounting challenges.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

You will be an established revenue accounting leader with the technical credibility to navigate complex revenue recognition matters and the leadership capability to develop a global function.

You will ideally bring:

  • 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least five years leading a Revenue function.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS 15 and ASC 606, with experience applying revenue recognition principles to complex commercial arrangements.
  • Experience operating within a global Shared Services or Global Business Services environment.
  • A strong understanding of financial controls, SOX requirements, audit and governance.
  • A proven track record of leading global process improvement, transformation and standardisation initiatives.
  • Experience with major finance and ERP systems; exposure to Oracle PPM, FinancialForce/Certinia or Maconomy would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and developing teams within a complex, international business.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
  • A commercially minded, solutions-focused approach, translating strategic priorities into measurable operational improvements.

A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline is expected. A professional accounting qualification or equivalent advanced qualification would be advantageous. Occasional international travel will be required.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in shaping a global Revenue function at an important stage of its development. You will combine ownership of an established operation with the opportunity to influence how revenue accounting processes, systems and controls evolve as the business continues to grow and integrate new acquisitions.

For an experienced revenue leader who enjoys operating at both a strategic and technical level, this role offers significant international exposure, senior stakeholder engagement and the opportunity to deliver lasting improvements across a global finance environment.
