An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a strategic change function within a large, complex organisation. This role will lead a high-profile digital transformation programme focused on modernising identity management services and delivering meaningful organisational change.

You will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through to implementation and benefits realisation, working with senior stakeholders, technical teams and business functions to deliver strategic objectives.

A key programme within the portfolio will modernise the organisation's identity management ecosystem through the implementation of a new card management platform and the introduction of a digital identity application service. The programme will replace legacy card issuance and lifecycle management processes, introduce secure mobile-enabled digital credentials, and establish a centralised identity repository to support identity verification across multiple services. The end result will be a modern, integrated identity solution that improves user experience, enhances security and enables future digital innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of strategic business change and technology projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Establish and manage project governance, plans, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and resource requirements.
  • Develop business cases, benefits realisation plans and reporting for sponsors and governance boards.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing advice, challenge and project leadership.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across business and technical functions to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure effective change management and adoption activities are embedded throughout delivery.
  • Manage suppliers and third-party partners where required.
  • Support continuous improvement by promoting project management best practice across the organisation.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and direction to project team members as required.

You will have:

  • Proven experience delivering complex strategic change and transformation projects.
  • Strong project management expertise across planning, governance, budgeting, risk management and benefits tracking.
  • Experience delivering technology-enabled change programmes within large and complex organisations.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills, including experience working with senior leaders.
  • A track record of coordinating cross-functional teams and delivering successful outcomes in matrix environments.

Desirable Experience

  • PRINCE2, APM or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Experience applying formal change management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of identity management, digital transformation, enterprise systems, access control or customer-facing technology platforms.
  • Experience managing suppliers and external delivery partners.
  • Previous line management or team leadership experience.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to lead a business-critical transformation programme that will shape the future of digital identity services within a forward-thinking organisation. Working across a diverse stakeholder landscape, you will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions, driving strategic change and creating lasting organisational impact.
