The OpportunityAn established and rapidly growing professional services business is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join the finance team on an interim-to-permanent basis. This is a fully remote role offering the opportunity to lead a high-performing Accounts Payable function while driving process improvements and supporting continued business growth.

This position would suit a hands-on AP professional with proven management experience, strong systems knowledge, and the ability to lead remote teams within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Accounts Payable function across multiple entities
• Oversee a remote Accounts Payable team, including team development, workload management and performance monitoring
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of high-volume supplier invoices
• Maintain supplier ledgers and oversee regular statement reconciliations
• Review and approve transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls
• Manage supplier relationships and resolve complex queries and escalations
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency
• Oversee payment run preparation and approval processes
• Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities to improve team performance
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to strengthen financial controls and streamline processes
• Support continuous improvement projects across the wider finance function

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience managing an Accounts Payable team
• Demonstrable experience leading remote teams
• Strong background in high-volume invoice processing environments
• Experience of supplier ledger management and reconciliations
• Familiarity with automated invoice approval workflows
• Strong systems experience, ideally including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar accounting software
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Process improvement and problem-solving mindset

Desirable Experience

• NetSuite or ERP system exposure
• Multi-entity accounts payable experience
• Payment run management
• Creditor reporting and analysis
• Shared service or outsourced finance environment experience
• Relevant accounting qualifications or certifications
