The best safety cultures aren't built through policies alone. They're built by leaders who influence decisions, challenge established thinking and make lasting improvements across an entire business. As Head of SSHEQ, you'll have the opportunity to do exactly that, shaping strategy and driving meaningful change across major UK infrastructure programmes.

Working closely with the SSHEQ Director and senior leadership teams, you'll have a genuine voice in how the business operates and evolves. This is a national leadership opportunity within a growing infrastructure organisation delivering projects for some of the UK's biggest telecommunications providers, with the freedom to influence standards, introduce new ideas and make a visible difference.

What's in it for you?
  • A senior leadership position with direct exposure to executive decision-makers and major customers.
  • The opportunity to influence business strategy, operational performance and cultural change nationally.
  • A key role in major UK infrastructure programmes within a growing and evolving organisation.
  • The freedom to introduce new technology, data-driven improvements and innovative ways of working.
  • The opportunity to shape sustainability and ESG initiatives with a genuine business-wide impact.
  • Remote-based working with national travel, giving you visibility and influence across multiple operations.
Your responsibilities as Head of SSHEQ
  • Lead national safety, sustainability, health, environmental and quality strategies, ensuring they support business objectives and operational performance.
  • Drive cultural change and continuous improvement, raising standards across operational teams and infrastructure projects.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and customers to influence decisions, manage risks and strengthen business performance.
  • Introduce technology, data and reporting improvements to identify trends, measure performance and improve outcomes.
  • Lead sustainability and ESG initiatives, supporting the organisation's wider environmental commitments.
  • Develop and support a high-performing team, building capability and embedding consistent standards across the business.
What we're looking for in a Head of SSHEQ
  • Senior leadership experience within telecommunications, infrastructure, utilities, construction or a similarly complex operational environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering cultural change, improving operational standards and leading business-wide transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, sustainability, environmental and quality management within large-scale operations.
  • Experience influencing executive leadership teams, managing senior customer relationships and aligning strategic priorities with commercial objectives.
  • Experience developing teams, implementing new systems and using technology and performance data to improve operational outcomes.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, remote-based with regular travel to sites across the UK.

If you're ready to take your leadership experience to the next level and influence how a growing infrastructure business operates, this Head of SSHEQ opportunity gives you the platform to make a lasting impact. Apply today to find out more.
