AI Software Engineer / Developer (Python TypeScript LLM) Manchester / WFH to £80k

Are you a senior Software Engineer with strong Python skills and experience building scalable applications?

Want to work on AI powered products used by hundreds of thousands of people?

You could be progressing your career as an AI Software Engineer at a global games software house building and enhancing products used by 700,000 live users. You'll work at the intersection of software engineering and AI, taking prototypes and emerging AI capabilities into reliable, production ready systems at scale.

As an AI Software Engineer you'll collaborate with product and engineering teams, to design, build and deploy AI powered features, ensuring they deliver real value to users. You'll work across Python and TypeScript backends, developing LLM-powered applications and agentic workflows, with a focus on scalability, reliability and performance.

You'll contribute to the full development lifecycle, from experimentation and prototyping through to production deployment, using modern AI technologies and cloud infrastructure. There's plenty of scope to influence technical decisions, collaborate on architecture and help shape how AI is integrated into the product.

Location / WFH:

You'll join the team in Central Manchester three days a week with flexibility to work from home twice a week.

About you:

• You have strong backend software engineering skills and experience using Python and TypeScript
• You have experience building and operating scalable production applications with significant user numbers
• You have practical experience with LLMs and AI application development, including RAG, semantic search, LLMOps or agentic workflows
• You have an understanding of AI application reliability, evaluation and production monitoring
• You have experience with AWS and CI/CD pipelines
• You have strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable contributing to technical discussions, working closely with product teams and mentoring others
• Familiarity with MCP and modern AI tooling would be beneficial
