X-energy UK

About X-energy

X-energy is developing advanced nuclear technology to deliver reliable, carbon-free energy at scale. In partnership with Centrica, we are preparing to deploy up to 6 GW of new nuclear capacity in the UK, with Hartlepool identified as the preferred first site.

As our UK programme continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Document Controller. The role will include support for X-energy’s submissions to the UK regulators’ Generic Design Assessment (GDA) of our Xe-100 advanced high temperature ‘pebble bed’ reactor technology.

The Role

The Document Controller will play a key role in ensuring the effective management, control and submission of technical and regulatory documentation across the UK programme.

Working closely with engineering, licensing and project management teams, you will be responsible for maintaining document quality, configuration control and regulatory compliance throughout the document lifecycle. You will help ensure information is managed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a document control professional who enjoys working in a structured, highly regulated environment and wants to contribute to one of the UK's most significant advanced nuclear initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the storage, approval, release and archiving of technical and regulatory documentation
  • Maintain document quality and version control processes
  • Support submissions to UK nuclear regulators
  • Track and record incoming and outgoing regulatory documentation
  • Work across engineering, licensing and project teams to ensure document compliance
  • Support audits and information requests
  • Promote document control best practice and standards

About You

We're interested in candidates who have:

  • Previous experience in a Document Controller role
  • Experience using Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience working within engineering, infrastructure, energy, construction, defence, rail, pharmaceutical or other regulated industries
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience within the nuclear sector, Teamcenter knowledge, and familiarity with ISO-based document control processes would be beneficial but are not essential.

Market-competitive salary, pension and benefits package.
