Drive Engineering Improvements That Make a Difference

Ganymede is supporting a food manufacturing business in the appointment of an Engineering Project Manager at its site in Manchester.

This role will suit an engineering professional who can combine hands-on technical knowledge with project leadership, delivering practical improvements that increase production efficiency, equipment reliability and product quality within a fast-paced chilled food manufacturing environment.

Take Ownership of Engineering Projects

You'll lead a varied portfolio of improvement projects from initial investigation through to implementation, working closely with Engineering, Operations and wider site teams.

Projects could include reducing recurring equipment defects, improving production processes, supporting new product trials and strengthening food-safety controls. You'll be responsible for developing workable solutions, engaging stakeholders and ensuring improvements deliver lasting results on the production floor.

The Role

  • Lead engineering and process-improvement projects from concept to completion.
  • Investigate recurring production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations and Hygiene teams.
  • Track project milestones, report progress and communicate results.
  • Train and support teams to embed improvements effectively.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support when required to maintain production performance.

What We're Looking For

  • Engineering experience within FMCG, chilled food or food manufacturing.
  • A mechanical and electrical qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • 17th Edition electrical qualification.
  • Experience delivering engineering improvements within a production environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and compliance.

Before You Apply

To help establish whether the role is the right fit, please be ready to discuss an engineering improvement project you've personally delivered, the production issue you resolved and the measurable impact your solution achieved.

Interested?

If you combine strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of improving manufacturing performance, we'd like to hear from you.
