We’re recruiting for an established international engineering and manufacturing business looking for an experienced Inventory & SIOP Manager to take ownership of inventory performance and support the wider planning process at its Manchester operation.

This is a hands-on role for someone with proven manufacturing inventory experience who understands raw materials, WIP, finished goods and how inventory planning connects with demand, supply and production.

What you'll be doing
  • Manage inventory across raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods
  • Support and help lead the monthly SIOP / S&OP process
  • Align demand, supply, production and inventory plans
  • Maintain stock levels that support production while reducing excess inventory and working capital
  • Analyse inventory, forecasting and planning data
  • Monitor material availability, supplier lead times and supply risks
  • Improve stock accuracy, stock turns and material flow
  • Identify and reduce slow-moving, obsolete and excess inventory
  • Work closely with Production Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales, Finance and Logistics
  • Support continuous improvement across inventory and warehouse processes
  • Produce clear reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders
What we're looking for
You’ll need proven inventory management experience within a manufacturing environment.

You should also have:
  • Experience managing raw materials, WIP and finished goods
  • Practical involvement in SIOP / S&OP covering demand, supply, production and inventory planning
  • Strong experience using ERP / MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite or equivalent
  • Advanced Excel skills, including analysing and presenting inventory, forecasting and planning data
  • Experience using inventory optimisation or continuous improvement methods such as ABC analysis, safety stock, Kanban, 5S or Lean Manufacturing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Confidence working across multiple operational and commercial teams
Experience within pumps, HVAC, rotating equipment or wider industrial manufacturing would be advantageous but is not essential.

The role Salary: £50,000–£55,000
Location: Manchester
Contract: Permanent
