A leading accountancy practice in Manchester is looking to appoint a Client Manager to join its growing Business Services team. This is an outstanding opportunity to work closely with ambitious owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and entrepreneurial clients while playing a key role in managing client relationships and supporting the firm's continued growth.

The Role

As a Client Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery, identifying advisory opportunities, and leading a team of accountants to deliver high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for client relationships.
• Reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and corporation tax work.
• Providing commercial advice and strategic support to clients.
• Managing workflow across the team and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Leading client meetings and presenting financial information clearly and effectively.
• Supporting business development and identifying opportunities to grow client relationships.
• Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior members of the team.
• Working closely with Partners to drive service excellence and practice growth.

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified or studying.
• Strong accountancy practice background with experience managing a client portfolio.
• Excellent technical knowledge across accounts, business services, and compliance.
• Proven experience reviewing work and managing staff.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially aware with a genuine passion for supporting clients.
• Ambitious and keen to progress within a successful and growing firm.
