Solutions Engineer - #2170217
Burns Sheehan
Solutions Engineer | Cybersecurity / SaaS
Manchester / UK Remote (office available and open in Manchester) Quarterly team meet ups
Circa £50,000 + Paid On-Call
I'm working with an established, Manchester-based cybersecurity business that's looking to hire a Solutions Engineer to join its growing technical team.
The company develops technology that protects websites, applications and APIs from malicious automated traffic, helping businesses prevent everything from account takeovers to fraudulent activity.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting stuck into technical problems, working directly with customers and understanding how different systems fit together.
The Role
Sitting within the Solutions Engineering team, you'll act as the technical link between customers and internal engineering teams, helping clients successfully integrate, configure and get the most out of the platform.
It's a varied, hands-on role, with responsibilities including:
- Supporting customers through technical integrations, implementation and ongoing optimisation.
- Working with CDN and edge technologies such as Cloudflare, Fastly, AWS CloudFront and Akamai.
- Troubleshooting issues across web applications, APIs, networking and infrastructure.
- Investigating logs and technical issues to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
- Collaborating with Customer Success, Engineering and Data Science teams to solve customer problems.
What They're Looking For
They're open to candidates from a range of technical backgrounds, including Solutions Engineering, Technical Support, SaaS Implementation and Integration Engineering.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- 2+ years' experience in a technical, customer-facing environment.
- A good understanding of web technologies, HTTP, APIs and core networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, CDNs).
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues across web applications or cloud-based systems.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with customers.
- A collaborative approach, curiosity and the ability to juggle multiple technical challenges.
Experience with Cloudflare, Fastly or similar CDN platforms would be particularly valuable, but isn't essential.
What's on Offer?
- Salary circa £50,000, plus additional paid on-call.
- Remote-first working, with a preference for Manchester-based candidates.
- Exposure to complex technical challenges within the cybersecurity space.
- Opportunities to work closely with experienced engineers, customers and technical leadership.
- A supportive team environment with a structured onboarding programme and opportunities for technical progression.
This isn't a software development role, and you don't need previous cybersecurity experience.
They're looking for someone with strong technical foundations, a customer-focused mindset and a genuine interest in solving problems.
