Managing Director - #2170215
Hybrid Asset Solutions
Ready to take ownership of a business with ambitious growth plans?
At Hybrid Asset Solutions, you'll take full responsibility for the division's performance, shape its strategy alongside the Group Board and lead its next phase of growth. You'll have the backing of a founder-led group and genuine influence over strategy, culture and commercial success.
About us
Hybrid Solutions Group was founded in 2013 by Phil McCabe on a simple idea: build a business that works for customers and staff alike. That thinking still shapes the way we work today, creating a culture that is thoughtful, accountable and focused on delivering the right outcomes for the people we work with and for.
Hybrid Asset Solutions is the Group's asset maintenance and management division. We deliver planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and installation projects across Build to Rent, multi-site facilities management, EV charging and commercial solar.
Working alongside our sister business, Hybrid Electrical Solutions, we support clients throughout the full asset lifecycle, from installation and commissioning through to ongoing maintenance, compliance and optimisation.
Why this role?
- Real ownership. Take full responsibility for the division's strategy, performance and future growth, with direct access to the Founder and Group Board.
- A growth opportunity. Build on strong foundations, including established relationships with clients such as Grainger, Cortland and Allsop, while expanding our presence across Build to Rent, facilities management, EV charging and commercial solar.
- Board-level influence. Play a key role in shaping the future direction of both the division and the wider Group.
- A founder-led business. Join a business where decisions are made quickly, ideas are welcomed, and leadership remains visible and accessible.
- Shape culture as well as performance. Lead and develop a talented team, build future leaders and create an environment where people can thrive.
What you'll do
- Develop and deliver a three-to-five-year business plan agreed with the Group Board.
- Identify new sectors, service lines and acquisition opportunities to support continued growth.
- Take full ownership of the division's P&L, budgeting, forecasting, revenue performance, margins and cash flow.
- Grow market share across Build to Rent, planned preventative maintenance and multi-site facilities management.
- Work closely with Hybrid Electrical Solutions to maximise cross-selling opportunities and shared growth.
- Scale the EV chargepoint and commercial solar offering into a significant revenue stream.
- Lead bids and tenders for major maintenance and facilities management contracts.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with strategic clients and partners.
- Ensure maintenance, reactive call-out and installation projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with SFG20 requirements.
- Drive operational excellence through effective workforce planning, scheduling and utilisation of Big Change.
- Use performance data and KPIs to improve response times, first-time fix rates and asset performance.
- Lead a strong health, safety, quality and compliance culture across all operations.
- Maintain and enhance accreditations including NICEIC, SFG20 Approved Provider, ISO 9001, SafeContractor and Constructionline Gold.
- Lead, develop and inspire the senior leadership team, attract and retain skilled engineers and technicians through apprenticeship and development pathways, and build strong succession plans and career paths.
- Lead the division's ESG, sustainability and social value agenda, helping clients reduce energy use and carbon impact, while reporting progress to the Group Board and relevant investor clients.
