The business has a down-to-earth working environment and is
looking for someone organised, detail-focused and confident
managing a team, who can hit the ground running and support a
smooth handover.
The Role

business.
* Overseeing the purchase ledger, sales ledger, journals,
accruals and general ledger activity.
* Taking full responsibility for the weekly payroll for
approximately 70 employees.
* Calculating payroll, PAYE, National Insurance contributions and
attachment of earnings.
* Managing HMRC enquiries and ensuring payroll and tax
compliance.
* Preparing and submitting VAT and tax returns.
* Coordinating audit preparation and liaising with external
accountants.
* Managing utility contracts and costs across multiple sites.
* Maintaining robust financial controls, processes and
procedures.
* Leading and supporting the finance team to ensure an efficient
and accurate service.
About You
We are looking for a confident, hands-on finance professional who
enjoys variety and is comfortable taking responsibility for the
full finance function.
Ideally, you will have:
* Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior
finance role.
* A broad finance background covering management accounts,
ledgers, payroll and financial reporting.
* Experience within a manufacturing, packaging, industrial or
similar operational environment.
* Strong knowledge of payroll processing, PAYE, National
Insurance, attachment of earnings and HMRC requirements.
* Experience with VAT returns, tax compliance and audit
preparation.
* The ability to manage cash flow, journals, accruals and
year-end processes.
* Experience using Sage 50 Accounts.
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including working with
timesheets and payroll hours.
* Experience managing or supervising a team.
* Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to
detail.
* A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently
and take pride in delivering high-quality work.
You will be someone who is comfortable rolling up your sleeves,
managing competing priorities and ensuring everything runs
smoothly.
What's on Offer?
* Salary: £55,000–£60,000, depending on experience.
* Permanent, full-time position.
* Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, with flexibility to start and
finish earlier by agreement.
* 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, with three days
reserved for the Christmas shutdown.
* Company pension.
* Free on-site parking.
