About CDS
CDS develops and supports CODAS, an ERP platform designed around the day-to-day realities of fuel distribution. For over 50 years, we have combined software expertise with practical industry knowledge.
Our customers depend on CODAS to run their businesses. We build long-term relationships, give honest advice and deliver on our commitments, while continuing to invest in our people, services and software.
The opportunity
Take ownership of a portfolio of CODAS customers, combining account management with a deeper understanding of their systems and operational processes.
Your priority will be making sure customers feel supported and get value from CODAS. You’ll work directly with users and decision-makers to understand questions, investigate problems and turn business requirements into practical improvements.
You’ll help customers make better use of existing functionality and assist with software implementations, supported by specialists across CDS. Commercial responsibilities will form part of the role, grounded in recommending solutions that meet genuine needs.
What you’ll do
- Build trusted customer relationships, staying close to their business and recognising when a conversation, visit or deeper review would help.
- Take a proactive interest in customer questions and support tickets, using your systems knowledge to investigate issues and help move them towards resolution.
- Understand the operational need behind a request, translating it into clear requirements and practical recommendations.
- Help customers get more from CODAS through better use of functionality, configuration, processes and training.
- Assist with software implementations, contributing to requirements, configuration, user training and testing alongside CDS colleagues.
- Guide customers through potential improvements and integrations, involving the right specialists and setting realistic expectations.
- Recognise where additional software or services would add value and contribute to clear commercial proposals.
- Represent customer needs within CDS, keep people informed and follow through on agreed actions.
What you’ll bring
Strong practical systems experience gained through at least one of these routes:
- Working for a fuel distributor in an IT, systems or operational role with significant responsibility for CODAS or other business systems.
- Providing software or technology to the downstream fuel industry in a technical, support or implementation role.
Practical CODAS experience would be a strong advantage. Experience in requirements gathering, user training, process improvement or integrations would also be valuable.
You’ll be comfortable working directly with software, investigating problems and assisting with implementation activity. You’ll explain technical matters in plain language, listen carefully, give honest advice and put customer service at the heart of your decisions.
You’ll take ownership of a brief, identify sensible next steps and move it forward independently, involving colleagues when needed. A previous Technical Account Manager title is not required; training will be provided.
