This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial audit professional who wants to move beyond simply managing a portfolio and instead create something of their own. You will be the firm's first audit appointment, taking responsibility for building the audit service line with the support of an established and profitable accounting practice that already has audit opportunities ready to transition into the new business.

Client Details

An ambitious and progressive accountancy practice in the North West is seeking an experienced Audit Director to establish, lead and grow a brand new audit division.

Description

As the Audit Director, you will:

  • Establish and lead a new audit function from inception.
  • Act as Responsible Individual for audit engagements.
  • Take ownership of a ready-made pipeline of audit clients already identified within the existing client base.
  • Develop audit methodologies, processes and quality control procedures.
  • Build and grow an audit team as the service line expands.
  • Drive business development and identify further audit opportunities.
  • Work closely with the firm's leadership team to shape the strategic direction of the audit practice.
  • Create a high-quality, commercially successful audit offering.

Profile

We are interested in speaking with individuals who:

  • Hold Audit RI status (either an Audit Director or Senior Manager) and are authorised to sign audit reports.
  • Are ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Have substantial experience managing and delivering audit engagements.
  • Possess strong technical and regulatory knowledge.
  • Have the ambition and capability to build and lead a growing service line.
  • Enjoy developing client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Combine commercial thinking with strong leadership skills.
  • Able to work from the Greater Manchester area.

Job Offer

    • Equity stake in the audit business from day one.
    • Existing audit work ready to be serviced from day one.
    • Freedom to build the practice your way.
    • Flexible working arrangements with autonomy over where and how you work.
    • Support from an established and respected accountancy practice.
    • Opportunity to recruit and build your own team.
    • Competitive remuneration package aligned to experience and growth ambitions.
    • Genuine opportunity to create a long-term legacy and wealth-generating business.
