Senior AI / ML Engineer | GenAI, Agentic AI & MLOps

Manchester | Hybrid | 2 Days a week

£500 Per Day Inside IR35

We’re looking for a Senior AI / ML Engineer to join a major UK banking client, taking AI solutions from experimentation through to reliable, scalable production.

The role combines hands-on GenAI and agent development with model serving, MLOps and production monitoring.

What you’ll be doing:

• Build enterprise AI applications using LLMs, transformers, RAG and agentic patterns such as ReAct.

• Develop agents with tool calling, memory, reasoning and workflow orchestration.

• Create embedding, semantic retrieval and ranking pipelines.

• Package and serve models using Docker, KServe, Vertex AI endpoints and Kubernetes-based platforms.

• Build repeatable delivery, training and monitoring workflows.

• Optimise inference cost and performance, monitoring quality, drift, latency and fairness.

What we’re looking for:

Strong production Python, API development and automated testing.

Hands-on PyTorch and transformer architecture experience.

Production RAG and agentic AI delivery.

GCP/Vertex AI knowledge and containerised model serving experience.

MLOps expertise covering registries, versioning, monitoring and drift detection.

Experience with autoscaling, GPU scheduling and controlled deployment strategies.

LangChain, LangGraph or LlamaIndex experience would be valuable, alongside delivery within a regulated enterprise.
