Are you an experienced Vehicle Electrician, Auto Electrical Engineer or mechanically minded individual looking to develop your skills within a specialist technical field?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established business for a Mobile Auto Electrical Engineer to join an existing service team covering Manchester and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in vehicle electrics who takes pride in their work and is keen to build a long-term career. Full training will be provided, making this role suitable for candidates with relevant automotive or electrical experience who are looking to broaden their technical knowledge.

The Role

As a Mobile Auto Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing aftermarket safety and security systems across a range of vehicles, including light commercial vehicles and large plant machinery.

Working independently in a fully mobile position, you will visit customer sites to carry out installations, inspections, fault-finding and repairs, ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Installing, repairing and maintaining vehicle safety and security systems.
• Testing electrical components to ensure installations are safe and fully operational.
• Diagnosing electrical faults and identifying defective components.
• Carrying out vehicle inspections and reporting any faults or safety concerns.
• Removing and replacing damaged or faulty components.
• Removing and refitting vehicle trims and internal components as required.
• Using diagnostic techniques to identify and resolve vehicle electrical issues.
• Liaising professionally with customers and providing updates where necessary.
• Managing your workload effectively while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship.

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates who are practical, reliable and motivated to learn. Previous experience in auto electrics would be beneficial, but a strong mechanical or electrical background and the right attitude are equally important.

You will ideally have:

• Experience in automotive electrics, vehicle maintenance, auto electrical installation or a related technical field.
• Good practical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• A willingness to learn new systems and undertake full training.
• The ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• A professional approach when working on customer sites.
