About the Role
Consula is recruiting on behalf of a large, established organisation for an IT Operations Manager to lead the delivery and improvement of the systems its teams rely on every day.
You will manage a skilled technical team, oversee a busy programme of system enhancements and new technology, and make sure change lands smoothly for the colleagues who use these systems day to day. It is a role that blends people leadership, project delivery and practical problem-solving — and your work will have a visible impact on services used by large numbers of people.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional looking to step into a broader leadership role, or an existing manager who wants a fresh challenge in a supportive, well-resourced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, support and develop a technical team, setting clear priorities and building skills and capacity.
• Evaluate and prioritise system enhancements, new modules and emerging technologies.
• Lead projects from business case and planning through to delivery and handover.
• Manage budgets, costs, risks and resources across a varied programme of work.
• Coordinate suppliers and partners, ensuring value for money and strong working relationships.
• Maintain effective governance, security controls and change management around all system changes.
• Plan and coordinate training, communication and handover so new technology is adopted successfully.
• Report progress, risks and benefits clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Champion continuous improvement in how systems support day-to-day services.

• New technology is adopted smoothly, with minimal disruption to colleagues and services.
• Governance, security and change controls are consistently maintained.

Person Specification
Experience
• Experience leading or supervising a technical or IT team.
• A track record of delivering system changes or technology projects in a structured way.
• Experience managing suppliers, budgets or project resources.
Skills and Knowledge
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, organised approach.
• Confidence working with both technical specialists and non-technical colleagues.
• Good understanding of governance, security and change management around system change.
• Clear communication skills, including reporting to senior stakeholders.
Personal Qualities
• Reliable, organised and committed to high standards.
• Approachable and able to build positive working relationships at all levels.
• Willing to learn, take feedback and continue developing in the role.
