A muti-site, multi-entity Manchester-based group is looking for an experienced HR Assistant to join its People team.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you’ll support approximately 150 employees across several businesses within the group, taking ownership of HR administration throughout the full employee lifecycle.

This is a varied role where you’ll manage the day-to-day HR processes, maintain accurate employee records and act as the first point of contact for employees and managers.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing starters, leavers and contractual changes
  • Preparing contracts, offer letters and amendments
  • Maintaining the HR system and ensuring employee information is accurate
  • Monitoring probation periods and ensuring reviews are completed on time
  • Supporting monthly payroll preparation and validating employee changes
  • Administering employee benefits
  • Responding to day-to-day HR queries from employees and managers
  • Conducting exit interviews
  • Producing routine HR reports
  • Supporting audits, compliance work and wider People projects
  • Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and workflows

About you

You’ll ideally have previous experience in an HR Administrator or HR Coordinator role, with a good understanding of employee lifecycle processes.

You’ll also bring:

  • Experience using and maintaining HR systems
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Confidence preparing contracts and employee documentation
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • A professional and approachable communication style
  • Discretion when handling confidential information
  • A proactive approach to improving processes and resolving queries

What’s on offer

  • Salary of approximately £32,000
  • Hybrid working with 1 day per week from home
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Study support towards a CIPD qualification
  • Comprehensive wellbeing and employee support benefits
  • The opportunity to develop within a well-established and diverse group

This would be an excellent opportunity for an HR Administrator looking to take greater ownership, broaden their experience and continue developing their HR career.
