Experienced Primary Teaching Assistant
Whalley Range, South Manchester | Long-Term Roles | Full-Time
£95-£115 per day, depending on experience and role
Are you an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term role where you can become an established part of a school team and make a real contribution to pupil progress?
Aspire People is recruiting experienced Primary Teaching Assistants to work within Primary Schools in Whalley Range, South Manchester on a long-term basis.
For these particular opportunities, we're looking for Teaching Assistants who already have recent Primary school experience and understand the expectations of working within a busy classroom. You'll be able to hit the ground running, work effectively alongside the class teacher and confidently support teaching and learning from day one.
Who are we looking for?
You'll have experience working within EYFS, Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 and a good understanding of how an effective Teaching Assistant can contribute to both individual pupil progress and the wider classroom.
You'll ideally have experience of:
Supporting teaching and learning within a Primary classroom.
Working alongside the class teacher to help drive pupil progress.
Supporting pupils across phonics, reading, writing and maths.
Working with individuals and small groups who require additional support.
Using questioning, modelling and scaffolding to help pupils understand and access learning.
Identifying where pupils may be falling behind and providing targeted support.
Supporting classroom routines, behaviour and positive engagement with learning.
Experience of leading intervention or booster groups is particularly beneficial. This could include phonics, reading, writing or maths interventions designed to help pupils bridge attainment gaps within the core curriculum, although this isn't essential for every role.
What we're looking for
These schools need Teaching Assistants who are proactive rather than passive - people who understand what's happening within the classroom, recognise where support is needed and can work confidently alongside an established teaching team.
You'll be:
Experienced within a Primary school setting.
Confident supporting the Primary curriculum.
Able to build positive relationships with pupils quickly.
Organised, reliable and adaptable.
Confident working independently with individuals and groups when required.
Passionate about helping children make progress and reach their potential.
Long-term opportunities
Our aim is to match you with a school where you can stay, build relationships and become part of the school community.
Long-term placements give you the opportunity to really get to know the pupils you support, understand their individual starting points and see the impact of your work on their confidence, attainment and progress over time.
Why work with Aspire People?
We want to understand what you're actually looking for from your next role, not simply send you a list of vacancies.
You'll work with a dedicated local consultant who will take the time to understand your experience, preferred year groups, location and longer-term career goals. Together, we'll put a plan in place to help you secure the type of opportunity you're ideally looking for.
You'll also benefit from:
Opportunities in local Primary Schools - helping you find work that fits around where you live and how far you're happy to travel.
Long-term and ongoing opportunities where you can build consistency and become part of a school community.
Competitive rates of pay that reflect your experience and the role you're undertaking.
A rewarding referral scheme - recommend experienced friends or colleagues to Aspire People and you could earn a reward when they successfully work through us.
Ongoing consultant support throughout your placement - our relationship doesn't stop once you've started your role.
If you're an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant who can hit the ground running and wants a role where your classroom experience will be genuinely valued, I'd love to hear from you.
