Baguley Athletic Football Club is a progressive grassroots sports organisation committed to developing competitive football, supporting local talent, and strengthening our community footprint across our adult setups.
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and dedicated Head of Football Operations (Volunteer) to join our leadership team. Acting as the direct bridge between executive leadership and on-field operations, you will oversee performance standards, streamline squad operations, and help shape the long-term growth of the club.
- Leadership & Operations Bridge: Act as the primary buffer and communication link between the club leadership team and all on-field operations.
- Management Performance: Review, support, and monitor management performance across all adult squads to maintain standards and performance goals.
- Ladies Football Progression: Work closely with the Head of Ladies Football & Development to ensure our Ladies Team receives the structure and resources required for continuous growth.
- Player Recruitment & Signings: Collaborate with the Head of Player Recruitment to evaluate candidate fit, oversee all new player signings, and handle fee or bonus negotiations where applicable.
- Strategic Club Development: Partner with the Chair and Head of Off-Field Operations to design and execute growth initiatives both on and off the pitch.
- Discipline & Conduct: Serve as the internal escalation point for player discipline, code of conduct, and internal standards.
- Football Experience Required: Must have prior operational, managerial, or administrative experience within a football club environment.
- Proven ability to manage relationships between coaching staff, administrative boards, and players.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- High organisational skills with a strong commitment to grassroots football community development.
- Must be local to the football club as regular attendance for meetings and matchdays is required.
- A key leadership role in a forward-thinking, growing football club.
- Direct influence over footballing strategy and squad development.
- A supportive, ambitious community environment at Ericstan Park.
