Murmuration

The Role

As our Senior Business Analyst, you’ll be responsible for understanding the requirements of our issuer processor. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you’ll extract and refine all requirements to ensure the issuer processor we build meets the industry compliance standards and requirements of the scheme providers.

About Murmuration

Murmuration is a new technology company building the core platform that credit unions run on. We provide the software, payments, and data infrastructure that lets a credit union offer its members modern digital banking without having to build or run the technology itself.

Credit unions are member-owned and rooted in their communities, but many still operate on systems that are decades old, which limits what they can offer their members. We're building the alternative.

We're a new company, putting our platform and our first engineering team in place now, with the backing of an established group. For people who join early, that means a real say in the product, the architecture, and how the company works.

What you'll be doing

  • Gathering requirements from internal and external stakeholders
  • Fully understanding the scope of industry compliance standards and the impact they have on the processor
  • Fully understanding the scheme requirements, translating them into build requirements to ensure the processor can integrate with the required schemes.
  • Defining Jira epics and tickets
  • Collaborating with engineering teams on backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews and demos
  • Owning internal confluence documentation
  • Owning and evolving the requirements gathering and handoff processes

What you'll bring to Murmuration

  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong experience working in a regulated environment
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to extract detailed requirements from multiple sources of information and distilling them down into digestible requirements for the team
  • Proficiency with the Atlassian toolset

Standout candidates will also have...

  • Strong experience working with issuer processors
  • Strong experience working with the major scheme providers (Mastercard & Visa)
  • Experience working with credit unions
  • Experience working in AI-augmented development environments

Benefits

  • Salary of £70,000 – £85,000 depending on experience
  • 30 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays
  • Hybrid working from our Manchester office
  • Company pension scheme
  • An early, hands-on role building a new platform and team
  • Structured career path with support for ongoing learning and development
