- Support the development of reliable, repeatable and efficient production processes
- Identify, investigate and troubleshoot process and equipment issues
- Support the selection, specification, installation and commissioning of new production equipment
- Work closely with contractors, equipment suppliers and external technical partners
- Plan and run production trials, experiments and process optimisation activities
- Monitor process performance and use data to identify opportunities for improvement
- Support the development and implementation of procedures, processes and technical documentation
- Work closely with materials scientists to translate material development into practical manufacturing processes
- Take ownership of engineering projects and contribute across the wider business as priorities evolve
Key Skills & Experience – Mechanical Process Engineer
- Practical process engineering experience gained within a manufacturing, pilot plant, R&D or similar technical environment
- Experience scaling a process, product or technology from laboratory, prototype or small-scale production towards larger-scale manufacturing
- Comfortable working hands-on with production equipment, machinery and technical systems
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across both process and equipment challenges
- Some mechanical engineering or mechanical systems experience
- Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning or bringing new machinery into operation
- Able to work independently and take ownership of projects from initial scope through to implementation
- Comfortable working across a broad range of responsibilities within a small startup environment
- Strong communication and project management skills, with the confidence to work with contractors and suppliers
- Genuine interest in sustainability, new technology and working within a developing clean-tech business
