Head of Commercial Property - #2157442
G2 Legal
I’m working with a well-established alternative law firm in Manchester, backed by a major US insurer, who are looking to strengthen their Real Estate offering.
This is a slightly different opportunity to the traditional private practice route. The firm sits within a wider insurance group and works closely with a range of established businesses, giving its lawyers access to a strong client base and a good level of autonomy.
The Real Estate hire is a key one for the business. There is already work coming through from a number of major clients, including acquisitive businesses with growing property portfolios, with further opportunities expected through the wider group.
As a result, they are open to speaking with experienced Senior Associates, Legal Directors and Partners. You don't need to be a traditional Head of Real Estate, nor do you necessarily need a large following. The key is being able to handle matters independently, deal directly with clients and have an interest in helping develop the offering.
The role will involve a broad range of commercial property work, including acquisitions and disposals, leases, lease renewals and general property advice. There will also be the opportunity to work alongside the firm's wider legal teams, including Corporate, Commercial and Employment, to provide a more joined-up service to clients.
The opportunity
- Join an established legal business with the backing of a major international insurer
- Existing client work from day one, with further opportunities developing through the wider group
- Real opportunity to shape and grow the Real Estate offering
- Significant autonomy and direct client contact
- Opportunity to help develop the team as the practice grows
- Open to Senior Associate, Legal Director and Partner level candidates
- No strict salary cap for the right person
What they're looking for
I'm particularly interested in speaking with experienced Real Estate lawyers who are looking for more ownership and the opportunity to help build something, without necessarily having to make the immediate jump into a traditional law firm partnership.
You should have a strong commercial property background, be comfortable managing your own matters and clients, and ideally have an interest in developing the wider practice.
If you're open to hearing more, I'm happy to have a confidential chat and give you the full details.
