Support Worker - Adults

Location: Manchester Area (Multiple Properties)

Hours: Ad Hoc Shifts (mainly early shifts, late shifts and long days)

We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Support Workers to support adults with a range of needs within supported living and residential settings.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by promoting independence, wellbeing and dignity. You will provide person-centred support to adults, helping them maintain daily living skills, achieve personal goals and live fulfilling lives.

Medication Training is essential for this role, and candidates must be confident administering and recording medication in line with policies and procedures.

• Provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with varying support needs.
• Administer and record medication accurately and safely.
• Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care where required.
• Promote independence and encourage participation in social, educational and community activities.
• Assist with meal preparation, household tasks and maintaining a safe living environment.
• Build positive and professional relationships with service users, families and healthcare professionals.
• Complete accurate care records, incident reports and daily notes.
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures at all times.
• Support individuals to achieve their personal goals and maintain their wellbeing.
• Respond appropriately to challenging situations and changing support needs.

• Previous experience working as a Support Worker, Care Assistant or in a similar adult care setting.
• Medication Administration Training and practical experience are essential.
• Good understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Accurate record-keeping and basic IT skills.
• Flexible approach to working ad hoc shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
• A compassionate, reliable and professional attitude.

• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism, physical disabilities or complex care needs.
• Relevant qualifications in Health and Social Care.
• Experience within supported living, residential care or community-based support services.
• Moving and handling training (preferred but not essential).
