We're looking for a Finance Business Partner to join HCRG Care Group in a varied, hands-on role combining strong management accounting with commercial finance, financial modelling, product costing and profitability analysis.

You'll work closely with operational and product leaders, taking real ownership of the numbers while providing the insight, challenge and commercial thinking that helps them make informed decisions.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both sides of finance - being comfortable getting into the detail while also being able to step back, see the bigger picture and explain what the numbers really mean.

This is a full-time, permanent role, offering a salary of £45,000-£50,000 depending on experience. You'll work predominantly remotely, with occasional travel to our Head Office in Runcorn for meetings and collaboration, so we're ideally looking for someone within reasonable travelling distance.

What you'll be doing

This is much more than a reporting role. You'll take end-to-end financial ownership for your area and become a trusted finance partner to the people responsible for running it.

You'll be:

• Taking ownership of the month-end process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, income recognition and balance sheet reconciliations
• Producing monthly performance reporting, variance analysis and meaningful commentary that explains what's happening, why and what needs to happen next
• Leading budgeting and forecasting, working with budget holders to challenge assumptions and identify risks and opportunities
• Maintaining rolling forecasts and helping senior stakeholders understand the likely financial position between formal forecasting cycles
• Building and maintaining robust financial models to support commercial and operational decision-making
• Producing product and contract profitability analysis, understanding what is driving margin movements and identifying opportunities to improve performance
• Providing product costing and commercial analysis to support pricing, business cases and contract opportunities
• Working closely with operational and product leaders, providing constructive challenge and helping them make commercially informed decisions
• Ensuring sales and billing information is accurate and working with Accounts Receivable and Credit Control to resolve issues and manage aged debt
• Translating complex financial information into clear, practical insight for non-finance colleagues
• Building strong relationships across the business so Finance is involved in key decisions from the outset

The breadth of the role reflects the JD, which gives the FBP responsibility across month-end and financial control through to reporting, forecasting, profitability, costing and commercial decision support.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who combines strong financial fundamentals with commercial curiosity.

You'll be comfortable working with detailed financial information and modelling, but just as importantly, you'll be able to communicate confidently with stakeholders, ask the right questions and turn the numbers into something meaningful.

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent - qualified, or part-qualified with strong relevant experience
• Strong management accounting experience, including month-end, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience producing budgets and rolling forecasts, including variance analysis
• Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to build and maintain robust financial models
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial information rather than simply report it
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
• Confidence to challenge, influence and build credibility with stakeholders
• A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• The ability to work independently while building strong relationships across Finance and the wider business

These requirements align directly with the essential criteria in the person specification.

• Previous experience in a Finance Business Partner, Management Accountant, Commercial Accountant or similar role
• Experience within a product-based, manufacturing or multi-contract commercial environment
• Experience of product costing or product/contract profitability analysis
• Experience supporting commercial decision-making, pricing or business cases
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics or similar finance systems
• NHS or healthcare experience

You don't need to come from an NHS or healthcare background. We're particularly interested in your ability to understand a business, build strong financial models and use your commercial and financial experience to provide meaningful insight and challenge.

The JD specifically treats product/multi-contract business partnering, profitability analysis and NHS/care experience as desirable rather than essential.
