Private Client Tax Director - #2154598

We’re working with a growing professional services firm that is looking for an experienced Tax Director to play a key role in the continued development of its Tax Advisory practice.

This is a senior, high-impact position combining technical advisory work, influential client relationships, business development and team leadership. You’ll work closely with business owners, shareholders and senior stakeholders, providing commercially focused advice on some of the decisions that matter most to them.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Lead complex, commercially focused tax advisory assignments and provide practical solutions to challenging client requirements.
• Build trusted, long-term relationships with business owners, shareholders and senior management.
• Advise on strategic areas including business structuring, reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals, succession and exit planning, shareholder matters and wider tax planning.
• Identify and develop new opportunities across both existing relationships and the wider market.
• Lead pitches and proposals and play a visible role in growing the Tax Advisory offering.
• Work alongside colleagues across Corporate Finance, Accounting, Audit and Business Advisory, creating a genuinely joined-up service for clients.
• Provide technical leadership while coaching and developing talented tax professionals.
• Help shape the future direction of the Tax Advisory proposition, identifying new services, markets and opportunities for growth.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Significant post-qualified experience within professional services, accountancy or tax advisory.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK taxation and experience delivering complex advisory solutions.
• A track record of developing senior client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to connect tax advice with wider business objectives.
• Proven business development experience, including identifying opportunities and converting new work.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing tax professionals.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to make complex tax matters clear and commercially relevant.
• A proactive, entrepreneurial and commercially driven approach.

A relevant professional tax qualification and significant post-qualification experience are essential.

CTA is desirable, as are ACA/ACCA qualifications and experience advising owner-managed businesses, privately owned groups and/or larger corporate clients. An established network of clients, professional advisers and introducers would also be advantageous.
