An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Counter Fraud Motor Claims Handler to join a well-established insurance business, proactively managing and investigating a portfolio of motor claims suspected of fraudulent activity or exaggeration.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong motor fraud and credit hire experience who enjoys analysing complex information, identifying fraud indicators and taking a proactive approach to investigations. You'll work closely with investigators, solicitors and internal teams while playing an important role in protecting the business from fraudulent claims.

Responsibilities of the Counter Fraud Motor Claims Handler:

• Proactively screen and investigate a portfolio of motor claims suspected of fraud or exaggeration.

• Manage a varied caseload ranging from straightforward claims through to delegated authority claims of approximately £100k.

• Handle and investigate credit hire claims as part of the wider portfolio.

• Use industry tools including CUE, MIAFTR, IFIG and Mohawk to profile claimants and determine the appropriate investigative direction.

• Conduct internet and database research to build detailed claimant profiles and support investigations.

• Identify potential fraud indicators and make appropriate referrals for further investigation.

• Provide guidance and support to colleagues when dealing with suspected fraudulent claims.

• Deliver training to the wider Claims Team on fraud identification and referral processes.

• Build and maintain strong working relationships across the counter fraud industry.

• Liaise confidently with investigators and a panel of solicitors both internally and externally.

• Monitor claims activity to ensure the agreed fraud strategy is consistently followed.

• Contribute to regular training and continuous improvement across the Claims function.

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience handling Motor Fraud and Credit Hire claims from a Defendant perspective is essential.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information and identify potential fraud indicators.

• Excellent attention to detail and highly organised approach.

• Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, investigators and solicitors.

• Experience using CUE, MIAFTR, IFIG and Mohawk would be highly advantageous.

• Strong understanding of counter fraud processes and investigative techniques.

• Ability to build and maintain effective industry relationships.

• Previous Claimant-side experience will also be considered.

• Personal Injury experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

• Proactive, inquisitive and commercially aware approach to claims investigation.
