Site Agent – Multi Utilities, Water & Civil Engineering

Location: Greater Manchester, with most projects across the North West
Salary: Up to £60,000
Type: Permanent, full time

We’re recruiting Site Agents to deliver major infrastructure schemes across the North West. Whether your background is in multi utilities, water or wider civil engineering, this is an opportunity to take ownership of site delivery within a growing contractor. There are three permanent positions available.

The company

Our client is an established civil engineering and utilities contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the region. Its projects span water, highways, drainage and other essential infrastructure. As the business grows and takes on larger schemes, it’s investing in its site teams and creating opportunities for people to progress.

What you’ll be doing

As a Site Agent, you’ll manage day-to-day site activity and work closely with project managers, engineers, operatives and subcontractors to keep schemes safe, on programme and to specification. Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, plant, materials and deliveries.
• Managing RAMS, inductions, toolbox talks and site safety inspections.
• Monitoring progress and resolving issues that could affect the programme.
• Checking quality and keeping accurate site records and reports.
• Building good working relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
• Supporting the development of apprentices and junior team members.

What we’re looking for

You’ll have substantial experience supervising or managing civil engineering or utility works. Groundworks, drainage, excavations, highways and concrete works are all relevant. Water industry experience is welcome, but it isn’t essential.

The brief calls for a CSCS card, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, Temporary Works Supervisor training, SEATS and a full UK driving licence. You’ll also need a practical understanding of CDM requirements and NEC contracts.

A strong Site Agent will know how to lead people, spot problems early and keep standards high when a project gets busy. If you’ve held a senior site supervisory role and are ready for the next step, we’d be keen to hear from you too.
