Engage Education are currently recruiting for a reliable, proactive and hands-on School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker, facilities assistant or maintenance professional looking to work within a school environment and play an important role in keeping the site safe, secure and well maintained.

The Role

As a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance and smooth running of the school premises.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe, clean and secure.
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Completing regular checks of the site, including doors, windows, lighting and facilities.
• Opening and locking the school premises as required.
• Setting up and moving furniture and equipment for school activities.
• Managing deliveries and contractors attending the site.
• Reporting maintenance issues and arranging repairs where necessary.
• Supporting health and safety procedures across the school.
• Maintaining outdoor areas and ensuring the grounds are presentable.
• Assisting with emergency procedures and site security.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and safety checks.
• Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and school staff.

Previous experience as a school caretaker, site manager, facilities assistant, maintenance operative or similar role would be advantageous.

Knowledge of health & safety, safeguarding and school site procedures is desirable.
