Reed FE is seeking a dedicated and supportive Learning Support Assistant to provide cover support at an educational establishment in Manchester.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of additional learning needs. Working closely with teaching staff, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that enables learners to develop confidence, independence, and essential skills for their future.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and 1:1 support to learners with additional learning needs.
- Assist lecturers in delivering engaging and effective learning activities.
- Support learners to achieve their individual educational goals.
- Promote student wellbeing, confidence, and independence.
- Adapt support strategies to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on student progress when required.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to student welfare.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Learning Mentor, or similar within a Further Education, SEN, or educational setting.
- Current safeguarding training and strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
- Experience working within Further Education.
- Experience supporting learners with additional needs, including autism, SEMH, learning difficulties, and/or complex needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
