Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Bricklayer Improver to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will enhance and refine brickwork, masonry, and concrete structures, ensuring high-quality finishes and structural integrity. Your expertise will contribute to a variety of projects, including renovations, restorations, and new builds, where precision and craftsmanship are essential. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to impressive construction outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in laying bricks, blocks, and stones with accuracy and attention to detail, following blueprints and schematics
  • Improve existing masonry structures through repair, restoration, and finishing techniques
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and scaffolding safely and efficiently on construction sites
  • Install rebar (reinforcing steel) for concrete structures to ensure stability and durability
  • Perform concrete finishing tasks such as smoothing, levelling, and sealing surfaces for aesthetic appeal and structural soundness
  • Read blueprints and schematics to accurately execute construction plans whilst coordinating with team members
  • Support in various tasks including plastering, stucco application, caulking, trim carpentry, tile laying, roofing, framing, metal stud framing, welding, and heavy equipment operation as needed

Experience

  • Proven experience working on construction sites with masonry or concrete-related projects
  • Familiarity with construction estimating processes and blueprint reading is highly desirable
  • Hands-on experience with concrete forming techniques and rebar installation is preferred
  • Knowledge of renovation or restoration projects involving stucco, plastering, or historic building preservation is advantageous
  • Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely in diverse construction environments
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts or cranes is a plus but not mandatory
  • Strong understanding of schematics and technical drawings relevant to masonry work
