Senior Software Engineer - Java / AWS

£50,000 - £70,000 | UK Wide | Hybrid

We're working with a specialist technology consultancy delivering bespoke software solutions for complex and mission-critical environments.

They're looking for experienced Senior Software Engineers to join their growing engineering teams.

This is a hands-on role for engineers who enjoy building software, working with modern technologies and solving complex technical problems alongside experienced development teams.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be involved across the full software development lifecycle, including:

• Designing, developing and testing bespoke software solutions.
• Building scalable applications using Java and AWS.
• Working across the full stack, with TypeScript, JavaScript and React highly desirable.
• Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab.
• Deploying applications across public and private cloud environments.
• Working within Agile development teams.
• Contributing to technical design and architecture decisions.
• Working closely with clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Supporting software through implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Around 5-8 years' commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong Java development experience.
• Strong AWS experience.
• Full-stack experience with TypeScript, JavaScript and React is highly desirable.
• Experience with modern software development practices and CI/CD.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments.
• Strong understanding of software design, development and testing.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients.
• Consultancy experience is desirable, particularly experience delivering bespoke software solutions.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of the projects, you must be able to obtain UK security clearance.

Candidates with current SC clearance are preferred, although exceptional candidates who are clearable will also be considered.
