What you'll do:
As Financial Reporting Manager based in Manchester, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's finance function. Your day-to-day activities will involve overseeing a range of critical responsibilities from line management of financial administrators to supporting senior finance leaders with delivery of business-wide financial information. You will monitor compliance deadlines meticulously while managing banking operations with attention to detail. By continuously assessing controls and implementing improvements you will help build a resilient finance environment.
- Line manage financial administrators by providing guidance, training opportunities, and supporting their career progression within the finance team.
- Support senior finance leaders in delivering accurate financial information to the wider business through dependable reporting processes.
- Monitor key financial and regulatory deadlines related to tax, compliance, and governance to ensure all obligations are met efficiently.
- Oversee banking operations including credit card administration, reviewing reconciliations and payment runs, as well as monitoring relevant banking covenants for risk management.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of financial controls by identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements that strengthen resilience.
- Supervise month-end control processes including intercompany transactions, payroll accounting, fixed asset register maintenance, and annual audit preparation.
- Act as the central point of accountability for property finance matters by managing all financial aspects of the organisation's property portfolio with care.
- Take responsibility for submitting data required to support company insurance policies ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement that enhance efficiency, quality, and resilience of financial procedures throughout the business.
- Develop strong relationships with co-owners across departments by offering support on finance queries and facilitating cooperation.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for Financial Reporting Manager brings proven experience as a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA), underpinned by strong technical accounting skills. Your proficiency with Excel enables you to analyse complex data sets efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Qualified accountant status (ACA or ACCA) is essential for demonstrating technical competence in accounting standards and practices.
