An established professional body is seeking a qualified lawyer to join its Complaints and Resolution function. This organisation plays a key role in maintaining professional standards, managing complaints processes and supporting public confidence within a regulated profession. You will join a collaborative team committed to fairness, integrity and continuous improvement. This role is offered on a remote working basis.

Your new role
As a Regulatory & Professional Conduct Lawyer, you will provide independent legal and procedural advice on complaints, investigations and professional conduct matters. Working closely with colleagues across complaints, governance and legal functions, you will help ensure cases are prepared thoroughly, fairly and in accordance with established procedures.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing complaints, investigations, evidence and case papers in preparation for hearings and decision-making panels.
  • Advising on professional conduct matters, procedural fairness, evidential issues and regulatory standards.
  • Identifying gaps in investigations and recommending further enquiries where required.
  • Attending hearings and panels to provide independent legal and procedural advice.
  • Reviewing determinations, outcome letters and decisions to ensure legal and procedural accuracy.
  • Advising on governance, safeguarding, equality, data protection and risk-related issues.
  • Contributing to the development of policies, procedures, guidance materials and training programmes.


What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive in England & Wales
You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience handling complaints, investigations, disciplinary or professional conduct matters.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, tribunal or professional disciplinary processes.
  • Strong understanding of procedural fairness, evidence and decision-making frameworks.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
  • The ability to review and assess complex evidence and produce clear, practical advice.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach combined with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Knowledge of governance, safeguarding, equality and data protection principles.
