Operations Manager - #2141352

Hays Education are working in partnership with a well-established Multi-Academy Trust in Central Manchester to recruit an experienced Operations Manager on a temporary basis.
This is a key leadership position supporting two primary school sites within the Trust's Manchester footprint. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence across both settings, working closely with school leaders and central Trust teams to maintain high standards of compliance, health and safety, facilities management, HR administration and business operations.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Operations Manager, School Business Manager, Business Partner or senior support leader with a strong understanding of operational functions within an education environment.
Working across two primary school sites in Central Manchester, you will provide operational leadership and oversight across a broad range of business support functions. Whilst central Trust teams provide specialist support, you will act as the key operational lead at school level, ensuring systems, processes and compliance requirements are effectively managed.

A significant focus of the role will be ensuring all statutory compliance, health and safety requirements, facilities management processes and site audits are fully up to date and operating in line with Trust policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead operational management across two primary school sites and associated nursery provision.
• Oversee administration, finance and HR processes at school level.
• Manage facilities and estates operations, ensuring safe and effective learning environments.
• Ensure statutory compliance requirements, audits, checks and risk assessments are completed and maintained.
• Monitor and coordinate health and safety procedures across both sites.
• Work collaboratively with Headteachers, senior leaders and central Trust services.
• Support the delivery of efficient operational processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate operational records and ensure compliance with Trust policies and regulatory requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in an Operations Manager, School Business Manager or senior operational leadership role within education.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety, facilities management and statutory compliance.
• Experience overseeing multiple operational functions including administration, HR and finance.
• An organised and proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to quickly establish credibility and make an immediate impact.
