We are seeking an experienced Men’s Knitwear Designer to join our design team at our Head Office.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience working specifically within men’s knitwear, with a strong understanding of commercial design, garment construction and the technical aspects of knitwear development.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and commercially minded designer to develop seasonal collections across several of our in-house brands, as well as working closely with UK and global contract customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop seasonal stock collections across several in-house brands.
  • Work from customer briefs to create and present relevant collections that meet their style, colour and commercial direction across both UK and global contract customers.
  • Create accurate technical packs for initial sample development, including colourway options and amendments through to production.
  • Create profiles for ordered styles on our PLMS database to enable orders to be raised by the Merchandise team.
  • Liaise closely with our China and Bangladesh offices and work collaboratively with Senior Management, Sales, Garment Technologists and Merchandisers.
  • Monitor market and high-street trends, translating them into commercially relevant knitwear collections.
  • Support the wider design and product development process as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who can combine strong creative ability with excellent technical knowledge and commercial awareness.

You will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar men’s knitwear design role.
  • Strong creative design skills and an excellent understanding of garment construction.
  • Excellent Adobe Illustrator/CAD skills.
  • Strong communication skills and proven experience working with global suppliers.
  • Sound technical knowledge of stitch techniques, knitting times, yarn counts and gauges.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with a good eye for interpreting and adapting high-street trends, colour and key seasonal directions.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • A current CV and portfolio demonstrating relevant men’s knitwear experience.
