My client is an established, award-winning professional services firm with a strong reputation for quality, commercial thinking and delivering positive outcomes for clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their HR and People Operations experience within a professional, fast-paced organisation. You will play an important role in supporting the employee lifecycle, from onboarding and development through to offboarding, while helping to ensure a positive and efficient employee experience.

Key Responsibilities for the HR Assistant:

  • Act as a first point of contact for routine queries received through the People inbox, escalating sensitive or complex matters appropriately.
  • Prepare accurate offer letters, contracts and standard changes to employee terms and conditions.
  • Support onboarding activities, including HR system administration and the coordination of day-one inductions.
  • Assist with the administration and coordination of employee and partner benefit schemes, including awards and gifts.
  • Support offboarding administration, including leave and holiday calculations.
  • Provide wider administrative support across People Operations and provide cover for the People Coordinator when required.
  • Maintain accurate employee data across HR and learning systems and internal trackers, including joiner, leaver and employee change processes.
  • Assist with reporting and ensure employee information is handled confidentially and in accordance with internal processes and data protection requirements.
  • Support monthly payroll preparation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve templates, trackers and administrative processes to create a smoother and more effective employee experience.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for training courses and learning and development activities, including diary and meeting management.
  • Support the administration of annual appraisal, promotion and salary review processes.

Key requirements for the HR Assistant:

  • It is essential that you have proven experience in an HR administration or HR operations role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to accurately input, manage and maintain data and electronic records.
  • The ability to manage your own workload effectively and work at pace while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to support colleagues and raise issues when necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence communicating with internal stakeholders and new starters.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, together with confidence working across HR systems, trackers and process-driven administration.
  • An awareness of employment law would be advantageous.
  • Experience within a professional services environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualified or working towards (desirable).
