An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing and dynamic engineering consultancy in Manchester.
This role is ideal for a technically capable engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, building strong client relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members. You will play a key role in delivering infrastructure and development projects across a variety of sectors, working within a collaborative and forward-thinking team environment.
RoleAs a Senior Civil Engineer, you will:
- Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and strategic development sectors.
- Produce and review highways, drainage, and infrastructure designs.
- Manage projects through all stages of the design process.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients, local authorities, and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
- Mentor and support Graduate Engineers and Civil Engineers.
- Assist with project planning, resource management, and commercial performance.
- Contribute to business development activities and strengthen existing client relationships.
Applicants should possess:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience within an engineering consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of drainage and highway design.
- Experience using industry-standard software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and InfoDrainage/MicroDrainage.
- A sound understanding of relevant UK design standards and approval processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing projects and coordinating design teams.
- Chartered status or progression towards Chartership with ICE is desirable.
