Senior Civil Engineer

Our client is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary team delivering water-sector projects. This role is ideal for an engineer looking to develop technically, take ownership of design tasks and progress towards chartership.

Requirements

• Up to 5 years’ civil design experience
• Minimum 1 year’s UK water industry experience
• Degree, HND or significant practical experience
• Hydraulic calculations and hydraulic profile experience
• Strong IT and digital design capability
• Professional engineering institution membership and working towards chartership
• Experience owning discrete design tasks
• Experience producing calculations, specifications, drawings and schedules
• Experience coordinating with other disciplines
• Clean water and wastewater experience desirable
• Infrastructure and non-infrastructure experience desirable
• Outline and detailed design experience desirable
• Awareness of construction methods and materials
• Knowledge of engineering drawing practices
• Full UK driving licence desirable

Responsibilities

• Produce safe, compliant and high-quality design deliverables
• Prepare civil calculations, drawings and technical documentation
• Develop practical and efficient design solutions
• Direct and support CAD technicians
• Prepare design risk assessments, reports and specifications
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and water company requirements
• Implement and record project design changes
• Support project planning and attend design meetings

Details

Salary up to £65,000 depending on experience

Contract rates up to £500 per day outside IR35

Manchester with flexible remote/hybrid working

Permanent or contract opportunities
