The Opportunity

Background within asbestos, fire safety, surveying, environmental services or facilities management is a must.

A leading specialist within the compliance and surveying sector is seeking an ambitious and driven Business Development Manager to support its continued growth across the UK.

This is a national, hybrid role combining home working with time spent meeting clients and developing new business opportunities across the country. The successful candidate will be a true hunter with a proven track record of identifying, winning, and growing new client relationships.

Working within a highly respected and expanding organisation, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth by securing new business opportunities across commercial, industrial, public sector, and construction-related markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and win new business opportunities across the UK.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, industry contacts, and proactive prospecting.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and site visits.
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle from initial contact through to contract award.
  • Maintain and develop a pipeline of opportunities using the company's CRM system.
  • Attend industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities where appropriate.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale to delivery.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, or Account Director position.
  • Strong new business focus with a genuine hunter mentality.
  • Background within asbestos, fire safety, compliance, surveying, environmental services, facilities management, construction support services, or a related sector.
  • Existing network of industry contacts and decision-makers would be highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrable track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Full UK driving licence.

What's on Offer

  • £60,000 basic salary.
  • Uncapped commission structure.
  • Car allowance.
  • Hybrid working model.
  • National remit with autonomy to develop your own business strategy.
  • Opportunity to join a growing, ambitious business with genuine opportunities for progression.

The Ideal Person

We're looking for an overachiever who thrives on winning new business. Someone who enjoys opening doors, building relationships, and turning opportunities into long-term partnerships. You will already have experience operating within a compliance, surveying, environmental, fire safety, asbestos, or related technical service environment and bring a strong network of contacts that can help accelerate growth from day one.
