The Role
Taking responsibility for the delivery of accurate, timely and well governed accounting and reporting across multiple business areas.
This is a broad and influential role combining people leadership, financial control, month-end reporting, stakeholder management and finance transformation.

The Role
Taking responsibility for the delivery of accurate, timely and well governed accounting and reporting across multiple business areas.
This is a broad and influential role combining people leadership, financial control, month-end reporting, stakeholder management and finance transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the team, creating a high-performing and inclusive culture
- Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Oversee divisional P&Ls, balance sheet controls, accruals, provisions and variance analysis
- Ensure financial reporting is delivered in accordance with Group Accounting Policy and UK GAAP
- Maintain strong financial controls and promote a robust reporting culture
- Partner with Commercial Finance, Group Finance, IT and wider business stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate month-end processes
- Lead improvements to the Finance Reporting Hub and its delivery model
- Ensure agreed service levels are consistently achieved and proactively resolve reporting issues
- Provide strong financial leadership and insight to senior stakeholders across the organisation
- Develop talent through effective coaching, mentoring and performance management
We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience and a strong track record of leading finance teams.
You’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience managing and developing accounting or financial reporting teams.
- Strong technical accounting and financial control expertise.
- Experience within a complex, multi-entity or multi-business environment.
- Excellent knowledge of month-end reporting, P&L and balance sheet accounting.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and financial reporting controls.
- A track record of improving, standardising or automating finance processes.
- Strong systems knowledge and an understanding of finance data flows and integrations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to balance robust financial control with commercial requirements.
- A genuine passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working.
- £75,000 – £85,000 salary
- Manchester City Centre location
- Hybrid working – 3 days in the office
