Consula is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and ambitious primary school seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and committed Primary School Teacher to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who wants to make a meaningful difference to children’s lives. The successful candidate will join a supportive school community focused on providing high-quality teaching, maintaining high expectations and ensuring every child receives the encouragement they need to reach their full potential.

The school is looking for someone who can inspire pupils, build positive relationships and create a classroom environment in which children feel safe, included and excited to learn.

The role

As a Primary School Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering creative, engaging and appropriately challenging lessons that meet the needs of all pupils.

You will assess children’s progress, identify areas where additional support may be required and adapt your teaching to ensure every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Creating a positive, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment
  • Establishing clear classroom routines and maintaining high expectations for behaviour
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ progress and attainment
  • Adapting lessons and resources to meet different learning needs and abilities
  • Identifying pupils who may require additional support or further challenge
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
  • Working effectively with teaching assistants and other members of the school team
  • Building positive and professional relationships with parents and carers
  • Participating in staff meetings, training and continued professional development
  • Contributing to school events, activities and the wider life of the school
  • Following all safeguarding, health and safety and school policies
  • Promoting equality, inclusion and respect throughout the school community

The specific year group or key stage will be discussed with shortlisted candidates and matched, where possible, to their experience and strengths.

About you

The school is seeking a confident and reflective teacher who is committed to delivering consistently high standards of education.

You should be someone who understands that children learn in different ways and who can adapt their approach accordingly. You will be expected to communicate clearly, manage your workload effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification
  • Previous experience teaching within a primary school environment
  • A strong understanding of the national curriculum
  • Evidence of effective lesson planning and classroom delivery
  • Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
  • The ability to assess progress and use this information to inform future teaching
  • An inclusive approach to supporting pupils with different abilities and needs
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • Good organisation, reliability and professional judgement
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development

Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs or additional learning needs would be beneficial, although it is not essential.

What the school can offer

The successful candidate can expect:

  • A starting salary of at least £40,000, depending on experience
  • A welcoming and collaborative school environment
  • Support from an experienced leadership team
  • Opportunities for continued professional development
  • The chance to contribute to the future development of the school
  • A strong focus on pupil wellbeing, inclusion and achievement
  • Opportunities to share ideas and develop areas of interest
  • Support throughout the recruitment and onboarding process
Why apply?

This position would suit a teacher who wants to be part of a school where their contribution will be valued and where they can have a genuine impact on pupils’ progress and experiences.

You will have the opportunity to bring creativity and enthusiasm into the classroom while working alongside colleagues who share a commitment to providing children with the strongest possible start to their education.
